Navigating multiple borders and diverse landscapes requires precision.

This depends on your goals. For wildlife viewing in places like Kruger, Hwange, or the Okavango Delta, the dry season (May to October) is best as animals congregate around water holes. For Victoria Falls, the water is at its most thunderous between April and June. If you are visiting Cape Town, the summer months (November to March) offer the best beach weather.

Visa requirements vary significantly based on your nationality and the specific countries you are visiting (e.g., Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa). Many international travelers can obtain a KAZA Univisa, which allows for easy movement between Zimbabwe and Zambia. We recommend checking with your local consulate or asking your Madou Africa consultant for guidance during the planning phase.

Yes. Millions of tourists visit the SADC region safely every year. Our private tours prioritize your security by using vetted transport, expert local guides, and reputable accommodations. Like any international travel, we recommend staying aware of your surroundings in urban areas and following your guide’s instructions in the wild.

We recommend being up-to-date on standard vaccinations (Tetanus, Hepatitis A and B). Yellow Fever certificates are required if you are traveling from a country where the disease is endemic. Always consult a travel clinic at least six weeks before your departure.

Parts of the SADC region—including the Kruger Park, Victoria Falls, and the Okavango Delta—are in malaria-risk zones. We strongly advise consulting your doctor about malaria prophylactics. Additionally, wearing long sleeves at dinner and using insect repellent are effective preventative measures.

  • Clothing: Neutral colors (khaki, beige, olive) to blend in. Avoid bright whites or dark blues (which attract tsetse flies).

  • Layers: Even in summer, early morning game drives can be very cold. Bring a warm fleece or windbreaker.

  • Gear: A good pair of binoculars, a wide-brimmed hat, and high-SPF sunscreen are essential.

Most luxury lodges and city hotels offer Wi-Fi in common areas or rooms. However, in remote “deep bush” camps, connectivity may be limited or intentionally unavailable to encourage an immersive nature experience. We’ll let you know the connectivity status of each stop on your itinerary.

The process is simple:

We accept bank transfers and major credit cards. Since we operate across the SADC region, quotes are typically provided in US Dollars (USD) or South African Rand (ZAR) depending on the destination and your preference.
